Projects

The Vanderbilt Journal
Noticing that Vanderbilt lacked a central platform to discuss pivotal issues on campus and in society, in June 2020 I created The Vanderbilt Journal. The publication featured 30+ long form pieces from Vanderbilt students and alumni, and collectively garnered over 200,000 article reads. I served as Editor-in-Chief and led an editorial staff, social media team, and authors in creating the publication.
The platform was cited by ESPN amongst other media sources, and had a large impact within the student body, giving students a platform to discuss race, sexual assault, and other large issues on our campus.

The Kids Who Get In
I self-published a book for high school students seeking admission to elite universities. The 300 page guide includes interviews, advice and real complete applications from students at 20 of the most prestigious schools in the country. It's a special book.

MNPS Exit Survey
Contracted as a consultant for Metro Nashville Public Schools, I revamped the survey administered to teachers upon leaving the district.

After reaching out to several other districts and compiling model surveys, I created a 44 question, comprehensive survey to provide the district with more beneficial data to help combat teacher turnover. The survey I created was adopted by the district and has served as their current exit survey since 2019.

City Year
After graduating high school, I served for a year in Boston Public Schools as a City Year AmeriCorps member - it was the best year of my life so far. I worked at the Curley school, a school I attended growing up, and was an academic and behavioral coach for a 4th-grade classroom.
Of 265 Corps Members, I was selected to speak alongside Arianna Huffington at the annual Starry Starry Night City Year Gala, an event that raised almost $2,000,000.

Big Man on Campus
As a freshman, I competed in a campus-wide male beauty pageant to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness.

I raised $1700, and performed an original poem as my talent. I won!
